Description

CNT0130 Data Communication and Basic Router
Configuration
The semester begins with an introduction to the
Internetworking model and the Transmission Control Protocol
(TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP) protocol suite. Course will focus on
networking fundamentals including the Open Systems
Interconnection model and industry standards, networking
layouts, IP addressing and basic network design. The second
half of the semester students will examine basic beginning
router configurations to learn how a Cisco router works and
study how to configure and troubleshoot a Cisco router that is
on a TCP/IP network. Students will also receive an introduction
to local area network (LAN) switching. Six credit hours
