EEL0120 Basic Control Circuits and CommercialWiring PracticesOffers fundamentals of relay logic control circuits and a basicunderstanding of control circuits, ladder logic and componentwiring design and operation. This topic is covered in boththeory and hands-on practice. Students will explore variousmethods used to distribute electrical power common in bothresidential and commercial applications. An overview ofelectronic control components such as diodes, transistors andintegrated circuit chips are explored. The course will also coveran introduction to electrical safety, types of electricalequipment and devices. Students will construct various branchcircuit lighting and receptacle wiring systems utilizing differentcabling and conduit methods. The National Electrical Code(NEC) will be utilized throughout the course. Six credit hours
