Description

HVA0240 Commercial Refrigeration/AC and Heating
Introduces commercial refrigeration theory, which includes the
function and sequence of the operation of component parts on
various refrigeration systems; including, but not limited to,
reach-in and walk-in coolers, beverage coolers and reach-in
freezers. Students focus on the development of a systematic
approach to diagnosing problems in commercial refrigeration.
Low outdoor operating conditions, various refrigeration loads
and the components used to assist a refrigeration system to
perform correctly during these conditions will also be covered.
This includes un-loaders, fan cycling controls, hot gas by-pass
valves and others. Rooftop and light commercial AC and
heating equipment will also be covered in this semester.
The student will wire in complex motor control circuits and
evaluate the performance data from the equipment for
optimum operation. Six credit hours
