Description

Students will learn advanced cosmetic straightening of aluminum. The course will cover the principles of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) setup and tuning, while emphasizing personal and vehicle safety during the welding process of aluminum. Students will learn how to remove and install fasteners, such as self-piercing rivets, blind rivets, and other mechanical fasteners used in today’s aluminum intensive vehicles. Procedures for anchoring and pulling vehicles structures will be performed. Students will identify and diagnose structural damage using three-dimensional computerized measuring systems. They will learn the different methods of removing structural components for replacement and reinstallation.
