ART3024 Principles of LEED
Principles of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) will introduce and explore the issues and concepts surrounding sustainable design and green building methods as prescribed by the LEED program. After reviewing the history and influences of man's relationship to nature through the built environment, we will discuss the LEED rating system and certification process, as well as other assessment systems. Topics will include the integration of sustainability with building systems for new construction and other types of projects, as w ell as the economics of green building, and current initiatives. Three credit hours.
