Description

Students will learn how to apply protective coatings, such as seam sealers, caulking, undercoats, and corrosion protection to repaired areas. Emphasis is placed on the application and blending of waterborne basecoat/clearcoat, as well as the refinishing of plastics. Advanced refinishing processes, such as tri-coat refinishes, blending, and color tinting will be practiced. Students will learn the importance of recognizing surface defects in existing finishes, mixing refinish materials, how to apply automotive finishes, and how to properly perform finish sand and buff techniques.
